What is the difference between PP honeycomb panel and CFRT panel?
Both use PP honeycomb core, but the face sheets differ. PP honeycomb panel uses woven glass fiber fabric in a PP matrix — providing good strength at lower cost. CFRT panel uses continuous unidirectional fiber reinforcement — providing higher specific strength and impact resistance at a premium price. Choose PP honeycomb panel for cost-effective general applications (truck walls, partitions, pallets). Choose CFRT for high-performance applications requiring maximum strength-to-weight ratio (RV floors with heavy foot traffic, structural panels).
Can PP honeycomb panels replace plywood in truck bodies?
Yes, and this is one of the primary applications. PP honeycomb panels are 30-50% lighter than equivalent plywood, completely waterproof (plywood absorbs moisture and delaminates over time), resistant to rot, mold, and insect damage, and dimensionally stable across temperature and humidity changes. The initial cost is higher than commodity plywood but total lifecycle cost is lower due to longer service life and zero moisture damage. Many truck body manufacturers are switching to PP honeycomb panels for these reasons.
Is the panel paintable or printable?
The smooth PP surface can be painted with PP-compatible primers and paints, or printed with UV-curable inks. For decorative applications, we offer factory-applied lamination with wood grain, solid colors, or custom printed films bonded during the panel pressing process — this is more durable than post-production painting.
