Composite Materials
MPP Insulation Board
连续纤维增强聚丙烯微孔发泡保温板
Advanced thermal insulation panel using supercritical CO₂ micro-porous foaming technology. Food-contact safe, fully recyclable, with thermal performance comparable to PU foam. Engineered for refrigerated truck bodies and cold chain logistics.
Why Supercritical CO₂ Foaming Matters
🍎 Food-Contact Safe
No chemical blowing agents. The CO₂ used in foaming is food-grade and leaves zero residue in the finished panel.
♻️ Fully Recyclable
Unlike PU foam (thermoset, landfill only), MPP is thermoplastic PP — grind it up, remelt it, make new foam.
🌡️ Thermal Performance
0.028–0.035 W/(m·K) — matches PU foam insulation while being safer and recyclable.

FAQ
What makes MPP insulation different from PU foam insulation?
MPP (Micro-Porous Polypropylene) uses supercritical CO₂ physical foaming instead of chemical blowing agents like PU foam. This means: (1) Food-contact safe — no residual chemicals or off-gassing. (2) Fully recyclable — thermoplastic PP can be remelted and reused, while PU foam is thermoset and goes to landfill. (3) Comparable thermal performance — thermal conductivity 0.028-0.035 W/(m·K) is similar to PU foam panels. (4) Better moisture resistance — closed-cell structure absorbs less water over time than PU foam, which degrades when exposed to moisture. The trade-off is slightly higher material cost, offset by recyclability and food-safety compliance.
Is MPP board suitable for refrigerated truck bodies?
Yes — this is the primary application. MPP insulation boards are used as wall, floor, and roof panels in our refrigerated truck bodies. The thermal conductivity (0.028-0.035 W/m·K) provides excellent temperature maintenance for cold chain transport. The food-contact-safe formulation (supercritical CO₂ foaming, no chemical agents) makes it suitable for direct contact with food products. Combined with our double-sided PET composite face sheets and stainless steel hardware, it creates a complete cold chain solution.
What is supercritical CO₂ foaming?
Supercritical CO₂ foaming is an advanced physical foaming technology where carbon dioxide in a supercritical state (above 31°C and 7.38 MPa) is dissolved into molten polypropylene. When pressure is released, the CO₂ expands to create uniform micro-porous cells throughout the PP matrix. Unlike chemical foaming (which uses blowing agents that leave chemical residues), supercritical CO₂ foaming produces a clean, food-contact-safe foam with no harmful residues. It is an environmentally friendly process — CO₂ is captured and recycled, and the resulting foam is 100% recyclable.
