FAQ

What face sheet and core combinations are possible?

We offer fully customizable sandwich panel layups. Face sheets include fiberglass (FRP), carbon fiber, aluminum, stone veneer, wood veneer, non-woven fabric, and PET film — and different materials can be used on each side. Core options include PP honeycomb (lightweight, recyclable), PU foam (high insulation), XPS foam (moisture-resistant insulation), and MPP micro-porous foam (food-contact safe insulation). Common combinations: FRP + PP honeycomb for truck walls, aluminum + PU foam for cold storage, wood veneer + PP honeycomb for furniture panels.

How do FRP sandwich panels compare to solid FRP sheets?

FRP sandwich panels are dramatically lighter — a 20mm sandwich panel weighs 3-4 kg/m² vs 8-10 kg/m² for solid FRP of equivalent stiffness. The sandwich structure achieves stiffness through geometry (separating face sheets with a lightweight core) rather than material volume. This saves weight and cost while maintaining or improving flexural performance. The trade-off is lower point-load resistance at the surface — but for panel applications (walls, floors, ceilings), flexural stiffness is the governing design requirement.

Can you match a competitor sample or existing panel specification?

Yes. Send us a physical sample or a technical specification and we will reverse-engineer the layup, test mechanical and thermal properties, and provide a matching or improved panel design with a competitive quotation. This is a common request from customers switching suppliers or upgrading from legacy panel constructions.
