What is CFRT?
CFRT stands for Continuous Fiber Reinforced Thermoplastic. Unlike chopped-fiber composites (like standard FRP/SMC), CFRT uses continuous glass or carbon fibers aligned in a thermoplastic matrix (usually polypropylene). This gives dramatically higher strength-to-weight ratio, better impact resistance (no splintering), and full recyclability since the matrix is thermoplastic, not thermoset. CFRT sheets are used as face skins on honeycomb core panels to create ultra-lightweight, high-strength composite sandwich panels.
How does CFRT compare to traditional FRP (fiberglass)?
CFRT offers several advantages over traditional thermoset FRP: higher impact resistance (CFRT flexes and recovers, FRP cracks and splinters), fully recyclable (thermoplastic vs thermoset cannot be recycled), faster production (thermoplastic consolidation vs slow resin curing), and weldable/thermoformable for complex shapes. FRP advantages include higher heat resistance and lower cost for simple flat panels. For RV and truck applications where impact resistance and recyclability matter, CFRT is increasingly replacing traditional FRP.
What surface finishes are available?
Three standard finishes: Black anti-slip (textured surface for cargo floors and walking surfaces), White smooth (clean surface for interior walls and ceiling panels), and Laminated veneer (decorative wood grain, fabric, or custom print bonded to the CFRT surface for luxury RV interiors and furniture applications). Custom colors and textures are available for OEM orders above 500 sheets.
