Refrigerated transport is the critical link in the food supply chain. The insulation system inside a reefer truck body determines how effectively temperature is maintained, how much energy the refrigeration unit consumes, and how long the body maintains structural integrity under constant thermal cycling and moisture exposure.

Traditional reefer bodies use polyurethane (PU) foam insulation — effective but not without drawbacks. PU foam absorbs moisture over years of service, gradually losing insulation efficiency. It uses chemical blowing agents that raise food-contact concerns. And it's a thermoset material that cannot be recycled at end of life.

Supercritical CO₂ Foaming: The Technology Behind MPP

What makes MPP special is the foaming process. Instead of chemical blowing agents (which leave residual compounds in the foam), we use supercritical CO₂ — carbon dioxide pressurized above 7.38 MPa and heated above 31°C, where it behaves like both a liquid and a gas. This supercritical CO₂ dissolves into molten polypropylene under pressure. When pressure is released, the CO₂ expands to create millions of uniform micro-pores throughout the PP matrix.

The result: a rigid foam with excellent thermal insulation properties, zero chemical residue, food-contact safety, and full recyclability. The CO₂ used in the process is captured and recycled, making it an environmentally responsible manufacturing method.

Complete Reefer Body Solution: From Panels to CKD Assembly

We don't just supply insulation material — we build completerefrigerated truck bodies using MPP insulation:

Wall panels: 50mm MPP core with double-sided PET composite face sheets.Floor panels: 60mm MPP core with anti-slip CFRT top surface, rated for 2000+ kg.Roof panels: 50mm MPP core with UV-resistant exterior.Door assemblies: Insulated swing doors with EPDM gaskets and stainless steel compression latches for airtight sealing.

The entire body ships as a CKD (flat-pack) kit, assembled at the destination in 4–6 hours. The refrigeration unit (compressor, evaporator, condenser) is sourced and installed locally to match the customer's temperature and power requirements.

Our reefer bodies are assembled at our facility in Kulai, Johor, Malaysia, providing customers with favorable trade logistics for global export. The CKD component supply chain: MPP boards and composite panels manufactured in China (Tongxiang) → shipped to Malaysia for assembly and quality inspection → exported as complete insulated bodies to the customer's market.

Why is food-contact safety important?

Interior walls contact food directly in many applications. PU foam uses chemical blowing agents; MPP uses CO₂ (zero residue, inherently food-safe).

Pre-insulated panels ship flat. Assembly takes 4–6 hours with bolt-together connections and gasket sealing. Refrigeration unit installed locally.

What temperature range?

-25°C to +12°C with standard insulation thickness. Deep-freeze (-25°C) uses 75–80mm walls. Chilled (0–4°C) uses standard 50mm walls.
